1. The maximum allow- able tolerances for IPS pipe from square cut ends is 0.030˝ (0.76 mm) for sizes 1.25˝ to 3˝ (DN32 to DN80); 0.045˝ (1.14 mm) for sizes 4˝ to 6˝ (DN100 to DN150); and 0.060˝ (1.52 mm) for sizes 8˝ (DN200) to 24˝ (DN600).
2. Gasket Seating Surface “A” must be free from score marks, ridges, in- dentations, projections, loose paint, scale, dirt chips, grease, rust, etc. that would prevent a pos- itive seal.
3.Groove diameter “C” must be of uniform depth around the circumference of the pipe.
4. Groove Depth “D” is a reference dimension of the distance from the pipe outer surface to the groove bottom, with re- gards to groove concen- tricity about the pipe. This dimension is a ref- erence only. The actual dimension “C” must be maintained.
5. Minimum Wall Thickness “T” is the minimum wall thickness that should be roll grooved.
6. Maximum allowable pipe end flare diameter is measured at the pipe end diameter.
